Meniscus can be defined as a cartilage tear. It occurs in knees and causes serious knee trouble in rare cases.Read the Rest...

Meniscus can be defined as a cartilage tear. It occurs in knees and causes serious knee trouble in rare cases. Generally noted to be of two types, it usually occurs on inner and outer side of the knee. The one located on inner side is known as medial and the one located on the outer fringe is the lateral.

Meniscus disk generally functions as shock absorber and helps to minimize the stress caused by another distinct type of cartilage known as articular cartilage.

Why does a meniscus tear occur?

Many people turn up every week at hospitals with knee pain and majority of them suffer from Meniscus tear. The question that strikes one is the reason behind the occurrence of meniscus tear. The reason is simple to understand. Unlike our skin tissues that have the power of regeneration, the meniscal tissue does not have a well developed mechanism of self healing. Therefore, any step taken by a person prone to meniscal injury results in the meniscus getting teared up further.

When does a meniscus tear start hurting?

Those suffering from meniscus tears do not experience much in terms of pain while walking straight. They might experience a bit of light pain but it is usually tolerable. Meniscal pain strikes hard while one is going downstairs. Those with frequent need to get up from a seated position also experience the meniscal pain more frequently.

Types

Degenerative meniscal tears are the most common of meniscal tears reported. In case a person is suffering from degenerative meniscal tear condition, the edges get frayed. This in layman’s language means that the tissue has been destroyed from years of use.
Those suffering from degenerative meniscal tears may suffer once or twice a year from severe pain when the knee hurts painfully but generally the person leads a healthy life. The degenerative tears generally do not require surgery for years.

The need for surgery

The meniscus tear pain generally subsides in a few week of its onset. The question that is generally discussed in medical circle is the need for going in for surgery in case of degenerative meniscal condition. If a person is able to carry on with their daily life activities, the need for going in for surgery is not desirable.

One can consider using knee braces to remediate the suffering caused by formation of Meniscus tear. In case a surgery is required to remediate the suffering, arthroscopy can be considered.

Arthroscopy requires the patient to be hospitalized for a while. Inducing a light sleep and injecting of local anesthesia is carried out in case arthroscopy is to be performed. A fiber optic camera is placed inside the knee through a minor incision.

This helps the surgeon to minutely inspect the tear and decide if it can be repaired or needs to be removed.

It has been generally observed that many of the meniscal tears do not require surgery and heal naturally with time.

It is advisable to consult a specialist before considering the option of surgery and in case the same is required, take it sportingly.

South Korea has evolved in the field of plastic surgery. Today, it has become widely excepted tool across South Korea to enhance the beauty. Women of South Korea says that they are always ready to endure pain to become more beautiful. The eye job in South Korea is considered as a routine these days and not as a surgery. Plastic surgeries are gaining popularity in Seoul, Apgujeong and other regions among young women who working in corporate sector or entering the phase of marriage.

There are several reason behind the growing popularity of cosmetic surgeries among the women of South Korea:

Acceptance of new technology

The society has developed in their mindset accordingly and are now accepting the new ideas and technologies. The most common surgeries among the women of South Korea are facial upliftments, repairing the jaws deformities, eye jobs and nose jobs. The trend of plastic surgeries has been popularized by the celebrities to hide their imperfections from the digital technologies. Therefore, it has inspired the ordinary women of South Korea to follow their trend with greater openness in the society.

Being beautiful

The pressure of getting married has also encouraged the women of South Korea to go under the knife. It has become a necessary part of the pre wedding preparation. Most of the mothers bring their daughters themselves for face lifts in order to get a good match for them. Parents in South Korea also promises their daughters for an eye job if she could pass with good grades.

Look West

Korean women wants to westernize their look and bring a revolution to their facial features. Women in South Korea would rather prefer a cosmetic surgery than an expensive handbag. As the demand for the plastic surgery industry is increasing day by day, the number of plastic surgeons has also doubled over the period.

Korean women wants their facial structures to be sharp so that they could look much prettier. 90 percent of Korean women are likely to undergo cosmetic surgeries as they are not born with such a face.

Thinking About Plastic Surgery, Be realistic

Changing times have given rise to a entirely new set of problem. People are turning up in large numbers for getting surgeries done to change their external appearance. This sadly is no solution to the problem as such people are at a continuous fight within and think that merely changing their looks can work wonders.

Realistic expectations

Having realistic expectations is the key to happiness. The patient should discuss all aspects of their life with their surgeon before going in for any surgery. Merely changing the external appearance will not work, as a series of conflicts might be building up within.

Understanding the symptoms

It is imperative that one understands the symptoms and characteristics of body dimorphic disorder before taking any help from the surgeon. The symptoms of body dimorphic disorder are extensive and a person might be witness to some of these in their daily life.

Extensive use of mirror and a tendency to cover a minor skin scratch.

Asking people for reassurances on the physical appearance.

Touching and measuring the blemish often.

Being anxious when surrounded by people at a public place.

Consulting a skin specialist repeatedly about fixing the problem.

Research shows that only 2% of the people have been able to get some measurable benefit by going in for plastic surgery. Majority of the problems that come under the preview of body dimorphic disorder can be cured through medication and adopting a positive outlook towards life.

Expectations from life

People who have unrealistic expectations from life are more likely to suffer from symptoms of body dimorphic disorder. Studies have shown that teenagers are more prone to this disorder.

Parents have a vital role when it comes of reassuring the child that they do not need any treatment , in case any of the potential symptom of body dimorphic disorder creeps up. This is a psychological problem and can be best solved by guidance.

The astounding success of Transformers has transformed Megan Fox into a superstar! Since then, controversies and rumors have become a part of Megan’s life. Some people just refuse to accept her stunning looks as natural. So, rumors are making rounds about the neutrality Megan’s nose, breast and lips.

Bloggers and tabloids are bluntly speculating the role of plastic surgery behind Megan’s attractive features. However, the Transformers star has always sidelined these rumors. Megan even posted some pictures on Facebook to prove her claim against plastic surgery. Unfortunately, people are still not convinced about the truth which Megan is desperately trying to prove. However, there are some strong evidences against her as well which have triggered the controversy this far. The 2007-2011 images of the sexy actress are appearing distinctly different from her recent pictures, with nose and breast being the most prominent parts. So the controversy continues…what do you think?

Megan Fox is certainly not the worst without makeup. In fact, she is one of those rare Hollywood celebrities who manage to flaunt a glamorous look successfully even without substantial makeup. It is true, that she is at her stunning best with all those makeup and finishing touches, but even without makeup she would be able to woo you to a great extent.

The Ultimate Truth

People always try to catch the celebrities without makeup to witness their real look. Many people intend to expose the uglier side of the Hollywood beauties. Catching some of these celebrities off guard has really paid in the past, but not with someone like Megan. Real beauty never goes unnoticed! Megan Fox is natural when it comes to her beauty and looks. No one can deny it. So pictures of Megan (without makeup) taken at the time when she was busy shopping or during her visit to a NBA game, haven’t been successful to taint her image as a beauty queen.

Every woman dreams of having an hour-glass figure and only a few women are lucky enough to be endowed such a figure naturally. Making impossible dreams possible is the job of scientists and they have done just that – your fantasy for a perfect figure has come true! Scientists have worked around a way to jiggle your body fat and move it around to places which has a shortage of it. So, in case you are looking for breast enhancement and at the same time worried about accumulated fat around your tummy, you could just transfer the tummy fat to your breasts in just about an hour. Killing two birds at one shot! Isn’t that great? How does this work? The procedure called Celution, patented by Cytori, involves removal of the fat from the belly or hips through liposuction and filtering out stem cells from the fat. These stem cells are then injected into the breasts within an hour. The breast size is expected to get a boost over a six-month period. Since the stem cells are used, there is not question of fat getting absorbed into the bloodstream. These cells grow and regenerate within the breast and thereby giving permanent results. What’s more, they look more natural when compared to surgically enhanced breasts. Is it cheap? No, it isn’t. Your wallet gets lightened by about £2,000 per breast which means you shell out £4,000 for the entire procedure. But considering the time you save and the promise of not going through the trauma of scars, it could just be worth it. This could give women who have undergone mastectomies due to breast cancer a great psychological boost as surgical enhancements are a No for them. Looks like, every woman in the world could have a perfect figure if the latest technology works fine without any hiccups! Hey, wait…..hold on to your imperfect figure for another year as the technology will be available in 2008. Image Source

Women are crazier than men, especially when it comes to plastic surgery, a new survey by BBC revealed after tracking 25,000 people, mostly aged 17 to 34. Before moving further let’s have a look at the main fact that sprang out form this survey. About women:- 1. Nearly a third of women who are a size 12 believe they are overweight or fat. 2. 85 per cent of respondents were aged between 18 and 35. 3. Half of the women surveyed believe that lot would change after plastic surgery. 4. Of the girls aged between 12 and 16 who took part, 53 per cent believed their body image prevented them from getting a boyfriend or stopped them from relaxing in a relationship. 5. One in 10 said they ‘hated’ their body. About women:- 1. 49 per cent of men said that they were ‘okay’ with how they looked. 2. One in 10 men claimed they were ‘very happy’ with their appearance. 3. Only less than a quarter said they would opt for cosmetic surgery. A look at these main points suggests that women remain more concerned about their physical image and their looks than men. And perhaps this very fact, makes women crazier than men about plastic surgery. However, I perceive one more factor pulling the strings, which in my opinion is ‘sexualisation of women’, whether it is by media or our society. Sadly, researchers believe that this very factor may turn women more susceptible to physical as well as mental disorders. Via: Daily Mail

Kim Kardashian created a buzz with her blonde look. Whether you like it or not, you cannot ignore it! Earlier, Kim fooled her fans with an artificial wig of the same color. So, not everyone was convinced this time around, until Kim stepped in to break the mystery herself. Kim Kardashian loves to experiment with her new look. And it is an open secret.

However, Kim praised her stylist Clyde Haygood for the entire concept of the blonde hair. Clyde described it as a team work along with Kim’s passion for unique and unusual hairstyles. The blonde look of Kim has drawn comparisons with Beyonce Knowles. However, being naturally attractive, I feel Kim just managed to go past Beyonce at least in this department. The blonde look has also proved a perfect match for Kim’s hair texture. Moreover, the color, and the style of her hair have been ideally designed to complement the beauty of her unique face. What’s your take on it?

Hair is the most beautiful and remarkable feature that enhances a woman’s beauty. An apt hairdo at an event or wedding can take a girl’s look to a new level. Let’s have a look at different hairdo’s that would suit your boardroom meetings, kitty parties, weddings and leisure outings.

Regular hairstyle: Office-goers and housewives hardly have time to do up their tresses every morning, since maintaining the looks are equally important. So ladies it’s time to do some magic with your mane. Your medium or long-length hair can do wonders to your look. Simply let it fall at one side over your shoulder to give a graceful look or just tie a high pony to reflect your facial features. You can also get your streaks colored to add a glam touch your hairstyle. A razor or a French cut can give you a fashionable look like never before.

Neat or loose braids: For the fashionable ones, it is a fun style. Just braid your hair from one side. Take the tale back and pin it up. To make the hair trendier you can also braid it a little loose to give a careless feminine touch to your look. Thick braid falling off your shoulder from behind would appear quite stylish and modern. Just hit your parties and weddings with a glam touch-up to your hair.

Tomboy look: The smart and suave look is liked by a lot of girls. So you can get a bob or a boy cut done to manage your hair in a better manner and also looking sporty at the same time. No entangling of hair and no long-hour brushing would make your life easier and happening.
